Some people direct from the stage. Others move the crowd from behind the curtain. But Shari Barron? She curates every moment in between. As the Chief Experience Curator of the Jasai Theater Festival, Shari is the invisible thread tying together the audience’s emotional journey from the moment they enter the lobby to the last echo of applause. Her passion for curating meaningful experiences didn’t start in the theater. It started in the classroom.
Through her work with Grow With Me, Shari has built a career transforming early childhood education. Her dream? To be a transformative force in children’s lives, empowering students, supporting families, and reigniting educators. She blends advocacy with artistry, ensuring every child, especially those needing extra support, receives the love, resources, and joy they deserve. Now pursuing her PreK–4 certification and on the path to becoming a CDA instructor, Shari is laying the groundwork for even greater impact.
But her gifts don’t stop at the classroom door. A graduate of the Philadelphia School for Creative and Performing Arts, Shari’s roots are steeped in dance and live performance. From youth church productions to the traveling praise dance group Diving Glory, the stage has long been her sanctuary. Her creativity is matched by an eye for detail and a heart for emotional connection.
That’s what makes her festival contributions so unforgettable. Shari designs experiences. Think: interactive surprises in the lobby, secret clues that mirror the theme of the main show (Secrets), and décor details that feel like Easter eggs waiting to be found. She doesn't just welcome guests, she welcomes them into the story.
This year, she’s elevating the atmosphere again. From magical mood, setting moments to curated elements that spark conversation and wonder, Shari is making the mystery of Secrets come alive long before the curtain even rises.
