Poet and Producer, Jasai Theater Festival 2025

Eboni Ferguson is more than a poet. More than a filmmaker. More than a producer. She is a force of creative intention, using every word, frame, and project to educate, uplift, and represent. Her dream is expansive, to create meaningful art that not only moves people but heals and empowers, especially within the African-American community.

As a featured voice in the Jasai Theater Festival, Eboni brings a bold blend of lyricism and leadership. She finds joy in sharing her gifts with fellow visionaries, and in the process, building a community rooted in collaboration and elevation. The festival, for her, is more than a showcase, it’s a shared heartbeat.

With a growing portfolio in film, poetry, and literature, Eboni is preparing to debut her new project Some Real Sugar Honey Iced Tea, a film filled with authenticity, edge, and emotional truth. Her goal? To sell it to a reputable network and expand its reach. But that’s just the beginning. She’s also curating poetry shows, writing new scripts, and continuing to add to a body of work that speaks to real stories and real people.

Academically, Eboni is weeks away from completing her bachelor’s degree and already preparing for the next step: an MFA in creative writing, with the long-term goal of becoming a professor. Her work is proof that creativity and scholarship are not separate paths, they walk hand in hand.

🌟 This year, we honor Eboni Ferguson for her unapologetic voice, her commitment to truth through storytelling, and her unwavering belief in the power of art to transform.
