THERE'S PURPOSE IN THE PAIN

Our Story Isn't Finished. We're Inviting You to Be Part of What Happens Next.

We are Jaret and Shari Barron.

We are husband and wife. We are parents. We are people of faith. We are dreamers, builders, and believers in the possibility of something greater. And right now, we're in one of the most challenging seasons of our lives. For years, we've worked toward building a life that reflects our values, our dreams, and the purpose we believe God has placed on our family.

But somewhere along the journey, the weight of pursuing those dreams became greater than the foundation we had built to support them. Today, we are facing financial hardship, difficult decisions about our home, outstanding obligations, and the emotional toll these circumstances have placed on our marriage and family.

We're not sharing this story from the other side of victory. We're sharing it while we're still living it.

How We Got Here

For Jaret, the dream has always been bigger than building a business. It has been about creating opportunities, giving people a platform to discover their voices, and building spaces where artists, young people, and families can experience the transformative power of the arts. That vision helped give birth to Jasai Enterprise and the Jasai Theater Festival. In 2025, the festival expanded into a much larger production season. The vision was ambitious, and the desire to create something meaningful was genuine. But the financial resources and safeguards necessary to support that expansion were not strong enough. Commitments were made. Expenses accumulated. And when expected revenue did not materialize, the consequences extended beyond the business. They reached our household. At the same time, our family was navigating changes in income. Jaret lost a source of supplemental income, while Shari was pursuing her teaching certification through a period of unpaid student teaching. Our financial margin became smaller while our responsibilities continued to grow. We fell behind on essential household obligations. The possibility of losing our home became real. And the pressure forced us to confront questions we could no longer avoid.

How did we get here?

What needs to change?

How do we protect our family while honoring the commitments we've made?

And how do we continue pursuing purpose without repeating the decisions that brought us to this point?

Two People. Two Perspectives. One Marriage.

One of the greatest lessons of this season has been recognizing that two people can share a life while experiencing the same circumstances very differently. Jaret was carrying the responsibility of a vision he believed in deeply. Shari was carrying the uncertainty of what that vision meant for our home, our children, and the stability of our family. Neither experience cancels out the other. Both deserve to be heard.

We've had difficult conversations about financial decisions, communication, trust, expectations, and the responsibility of making major decisions together.

We've had to acknowledge that love doesn't eliminate the need for planning.

Faith doesn't eliminate the need for accountability. And pursuing a calling should not require one spouse to continually sacrifice the peace and progress of the other.

We are learning that our marriage, our children, and our individual dreams must all have a place in the future we're building.

Finding Faith in the Middle of the Pain

There have been moments of fear, exhaustion, disappointment, and uncertainty.

There have been moments when we've questioned what comes next and wondered how much more we could endure. But this season has also forced us to examine our relationship with God more deeply. We are learning that faith is not pretending everything is fine.

Faith can include tears.

Faith can include difficult questions.

Faith can include admitting that something needs to change.

We believe God can bring purpose out of painful circumstances, but we also understand that growth requires our participation. It requires honesty, humility, discipline, and a willingness to make different decisions. We cannot undo everything that brought us here. But we can take responsibility for how we move forward.

Why We're Sharing Our Story

We know we're not the only family navigating difficult circumstances behind closed doors. There are entrepreneurs pursuing meaningful visions while struggling to keep their businesses and households afloat. There are spouses supporting dreams while quietly carrying financial and emotional pressure. There are parents trying to protect their children from uncertainty. There are people of faith who believe in God's promises but still find themselves crying, questioning, and searching for answers.

We want this campaign to create space for those conversations. We are not presenting ourselves as people who have mastered the journey. We are inviting you to witness what it looks like to confront hardship, take responsibility, rebuild relationships, and pursue a healthier future. Because there's purpose in the pain, but we must be willing to learn from it.

The Campaign: 10,000 Hoodies. A $250,000 Goal.

We've created the There's Purpose in the Pain merchandise campaign as a practical way to help our family and business move toward financial stability. Our goal is to generate $250,000 in net proceeds through participating merchandise purchases and campaign partnerships. At an average of $25 in net proceeds per hoodie, reaching that goal would require approximately 10,000 hoodies. Actual quantities will depend on the product mix, costs, and partner arrangements.

The funds are intended to support several important priorities:

  • Stabilizing our household and addressing urgent family needs.

  • Resolving verified outstanding business and professional obligations.

  • Paying remaining commitments connected to the previous theater festival.

  • Establishing professional financial guidance and stronger safeguards.

  • Creating reserves and a more responsible foundation for future projects.

  • Supporting the next chapter of the Jasai Theater Festival and the long-term theater vision.

This campaign is not simply about raising money and returning to business as usual.

It's about changing the way we build. We intend to share verified financial progress, report how proceeds are being allocated, and communicate the lessons and decisions shaping our next chapter.

Our Story Will Continue Every Sunday

We are developing a weekly Sunday podcast and video update series under the same name: There's Purpose in the Pain. Through these conversations, we'll share our individual perspectives, the realities of rebuilding, what we're learning about marriage and faith, and the progress we're making toward our goals. Some weeks may bring breakthroughs. Other weeks may bring setbacks. But the commitment is to share the journey with honesty and accountability. We're also looking toward future opportunities to bring these conversations into communities through a book, speaking engagements, and gatherings centered on faith, marriage, entrepreneurship, and stewardship. Those are future possibilities, not promises that everything has already been accomplished.

An Invitation to Walk With Us

If our story resonates with you, we invite you to support the campaign by purchasing merchandise, sharing the message, following our weekly updates, or simply encouraging someone who may be navigating a difficult season of their own.

Every purchase helps us work toward our goals. Every shared story creates an opportunity for connection. And every step forward gives us another chance to build with greater wisdom. We don't know exactly how every chapter will unfold.

But we know that we want the lessons of this season to change us.

We want our family to become stronger.

We want our commitments to be honored.

We want both of our dreams to have room to grow.

And we want whatever comes next to be built on a foundation of faith, honesty, responsibility, and love.

Our story isn't finished. We're inviting you to be part of what happens next.

THERE'S PURPOSE IN THE PAIN.
