Performer, Jasai Theater Festival 2025
Every great festival is powered by performers who bring truth to the stage, depth to the dialogue, and emotion to every line delivered. For LaPorscha Rodgers, this year’s Jasai Theater Festival is more than just another performance, it’s a platform to showcase the magic of original storytelling and a stepping stone toward her biggest dream: steady, meaningful work as an actor, especially in the world of voiceover.
LaPorscha’s passion for acting is matched by her dedication to excellence. She has been a consistent force in Jaret R. Barron's creative world since 2016, first cast as Kim in the original production of Secrets. Since then, she has taken on multiple roles in his touring Skits & Conversations series, and has performed in It Could Be Worse and Black Love. She is one of the only actors in this year’s festival who has appeared in every stage play Jaret has written with the exception of his very first production, A Family Divided, making her not only a talented performer but also a foundational part of the Jasai storytelling legacy. It’s that commitment that makes her a valuable part of this year’s cast.
What she loves most about the festival is simple yet powerful: the opportunity to bring original work to life. In a world often dominated by the mainstream, LaPorscha sees the beauty and importance of fresh voices, bold perspectives, and stories that haven’t been told before. Being a part of that creative emergence is where she thrives.
🌟 This year, we celebrate LaPorscha Rodgers for saying yes to the moment, for embracing the spotlight, and for reminding us that sometimes the most powerful dreams begin with simply showing up.
